Are prefabricated panels less costly than traditional “stick building?”
Schedule-driven time savings can revolutionize your investment. Ask us about the 400 unit apartment building that opened 4 months early because they used CPT's light-gauge steel wall panels, floors and roof trusses.
Dumpster costs plummet when using wall panels from Chicago Panel & Truss, Inc. You’ll save layout time since we do a large portion of the layout here in our facilities, further reducing your field expenditures.
You can even start construction sooner because we build your walls and trusses indoors, avoiding delays from inclement or sub-zero weather.

Are prefabricated wall panels a higher quality product than a “stick built” structure?
Ours are! We know you often hear derogatory insinuations about prefabricated or portable structures. Even some of our competitors talk about a trade-off between cost, schedule, and quality.
The light-gauge steel wall panels, floors and roof truss systems created by Chicago Panel & Truss, Inc. provide both quality and cost savings according to your schedule! Our products meet Federal, State & Local ordinances and our design and engineering incorporates the most stringent requirements. Panelization saves you time and money.

How large are the panels you manufacture? How many layers of sheathing do you supply?
We can provide wall panels 50 feet in length and 12 feet tall or 40 feet tall and 12 feet wide through our conventional shipping methods. Floors are available in the same widths and up to 60-foot spans. We're able to prefabricate and ship almost any roof, pitched or flat.
In short, we’ll prefabricate anything that’s structurally sound.
We provide up to four layers of sheathing for exterior wall panels. More information on material options is available on our products pages.

Can you convert my existing drawings from a wood design to light-gauge steel wall panels?
Yes! Our staff will be happy to assist you, or will even design-build your project, incorporating all the advantages light-gauge steel offers over wood framing. Our products reduce the possibility of damage due to termites, mold, shrinkage or warping. Waste is significantly reduced and shipping costs are minimized. In addition, light-gauge steel walls weigh less than a wood wall and are stronger, creating less stress on your foundation and providing more stability.
Is steel framing significantly different from wood framing methods?
With steel framing, we use consistent layout and spacing techniques. We use rivets, screws and welding processes to fasten our studs and track in our shop. Interior drywall is affixed after the installation.
What fastening systems can I use with your light-gauge wall panels?
Self-tapping screws and pneumatic nailing systems can be used to fasten sheathing, subfloor and drywall to our products.
How do I request an estimate?
